Academic Lab / Classroom Technology Technicians are required to ensure technology is set up, operating and maintained effectively to support the academic and applied research activities in a number of the innovative labs such as Energy and Power, Additive Manufacturing, IOT, Cyber etc.
The work involves working with faculty, students, administrators and full time lab technicians in the conduct of their work.
This position involves assisting faculty members with the development of lab procedures and teaching materials for the gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS). Duties include operating the GCMS, assisting with the development of instructional materials and manual for chemical engineering/biotechnology students, developing learning materials based on universal design and developing experimental procedures. Additional duties include developing in-depth methods of sample preparation for students (i.e. distillation, solid phase extraction, soxhlet extraction, solid phase micro extraction of QuEChERS). The ideal candidate will have a strong chemical instrumentation background and ideally a background in GCMS.
This position involves assisting staff members with daily activities in labs related to the biotechnology program. Duties may include preparation of stock lab reagents, media preparation and stock culture preparation. Additional duties may include assisting faculty members with the commissioning of new lab equipment and/or development of lab protocols for biotech related labs. Campus to Community Student Leads will help to create and facilitate fun and engaging volunteer events both on and off-campus. Student Leads will assist with student outreach through event marketing and social media, and will be involved in planning events and engaging with students across the college. This position involves peer-to-peer leadership opportunities and learning experiences, along with practical office experience and networking opportunities in the Hamilton community.
Student Leads must be creative, outgoing, reliable, organized, and have strong time management and team working skills.

The School of Engineering Technology requires a student with aviation, electrotechnology, environmental technology or a programming IT background to help with building a drone, testing and operating the UAV indoors as well as processing the collected data using a specific software package. Familiarity with Pozyx, Marvelmind, Arduino, Copter or Pixhawk would be beneficial.
Work will take place at both the Fennell campus and our location at the Hamilton Airport. Therefore reliable transportation is required.
The CICE Student Departmental Support position has been designed specifically for students in the Community Integration through Cooperative Education program. It has been built so that CICE students have access to a variety of skill building jobs around the College, and the opportunity to build skills for future work. The position time commitment is up to 5 hrs a week.
The Clinic Assistant will provide support to the clinic staff and faculty and gain professional practice and operations experience.
The Conference Planner will be responsible, under the direction of their supervisor, for organizing conferences and workshops for IDEAWORKS. This position includes coordinating and implementing events and associated event logistics. The incumbent will also be responsible for social media, promotion, and digital marketing activities and will ensure maximum participation from speakers, attendees, sponsors and exhibitors.
To assist Full-time Staff in the day to day operations of one of the three Fennell Campus business units. Provide courteous service along with information and direction to students and visitors of the College as required.
